These terms cover your use of this website and the free tools on it. Publishing work for your book is agreed separately, in writing, before anything begins.
Using this website
You may use this website and its free tools for your own publishing planning. Please do not attempt to disrupt the site, access parts of it you have not been given access to, or misuse the tools in a way that harms other authors' use of them.
Guidance, not a guarantee
The Publishing Starting Point, Self-Publishing Foundations, the Publishing Action Plan and the Publishing Director provide general publishing guidance based on the answers you give. They are educational tools. They do not review the quality of your writing, and they are not legal, tax or financial advice. We do not promise any particular sales, ranking or commercial outcome for your book.
What we do and do not do
Self Publish Me provides publishing production and publishing setup services for manuscripts authors have already written: editing where it is needed, cover design, interior formatting, eBook preparation, ISBN guidance and Amazon KDP setup. We do not write, ghostwrite or develop manuscripts. Amazon KDP provides the retail and distribution platform; our part is preparing your book and setting your title up correctly.
Your rights in your book
You retain the rights to your manuscript and your book, and you receive your royalties directly from the retail platform. We do not acquire rights in your work.
Enquiries, scope and pricing
Telling us about your book, requesting a free publishing consultation or completing our intake form does not create a contract and commits you to nothing. Because every manuscript differs in length, editing needs and formats, the scope, timeline and cost of publishing work are confirmed with you in writing in your publishing plan before any production begins. Those written project terms govern the work itself; where they differ from this page, the project terms apply.
Content on this site
Text, designs, course material and images on this website belong to Self Publish Me or are used with permission, and are provided for your personal use. Books shown in our gallery remain the property of their authors.
Availability and changes
This website and its free tools are provided as they are, and some items are clearly marked as in development. We may update, add to or withdraw features and update these terms; the current version is always the one on this page.
