Your Publishing Consultation is a free opportunity to meet with Self Publish Me, ask questions about your book, understand the publishing decisions in front of you, and get clearer about what should happen next.
Publishing a first book can raise a lot of questions. We believe you should be able to understand your options before deciding what comes next.
That's why the consultation is free. First-time authors are welcome, you don't need to understand any publishing terminology beforehand, and there is no obligation to begin a publishing project with Self Publish Me afterwards.

A consultation is simply time with someone who understands publishing, looking at your book and your questions. If any of these sound like you, it will help.
You have a finished manuscript and you're not sure what should happen next.
You're not sure whether your book needs editing, or what kind.
Terms like cover, formatting, ISBN or publishing setup are still unclear.
You have several decisions ahead and want help putting them in a sensible order.
You've already done part of the work and want to know what's left.
What happens during the consultation
Publishing decisions — not your writing.
We work through four things in roughly this order: where your book stands, your questions, what needs to happen next, and a clearer path forward.
Where your book is now
We start with the honest current position of your project — what stage it's really at, in plain language.
What's already done
Anything you've completed already counts. We look at what's genuinely finished so we don't recommend work you've already completed.
Your open questions
Editing levels, covers, interior layout, ISBNs, imprints, publishing accounts, book descriptions — bring the questions you have.
Order and priorities
Some publishing steps depend on others. We work out what has to come first and what can safely wait.
Scope
The consultation focuses on publishing decisions for a manuscript you have already written. Self Publish Me does not write or ghostwrite manuscripts, and this is not a general marketing service.

The aim is understanding, not paperwork. By the end of the consultation you should have:
A clearer sense of where your book currently stands
Answers to the questions you brought with you
A clearer view of the decisions that are still open
A sensible order for the next steps
A sense of whether you can continue yourself or would like publishing help
Plenty of authors leave a consultation with steps they can complete themselves. Some need more preparation first. Some are ready to hand the publishing project to us. All three are fine outcomes — the point is that you know which one you're in.
