What you'll understand: Know exactly what to check before approving your book for publication.
Approval is a real moment. Once you press it, the files go to the platform and the book becomes an object in the world. Give it a proper hour.
Cover
- Title, subtitle and author name spelled exactly right.
- Spine text centred and not creeping onto the front or back.
- Back-cover text readable at actual size.
- Barcode area clear of artwork.
Interior
- Chapters start in the right place and in the right order.
- Page numbers and running heads correct throughout.
- Copyright page accurate, with the right ISBN and year.
- Images sharp and correctly placed.
Listing
- Title and subtitle match the cover exactly.
- Description formatted and free of typos.
- Categories and keywords set.
- Price set for each format.
Why this matters
Corrections after publication are possible, but they mean resubmission, another review and a live listing that briefly shows the old version.
